The Ambrette concept was launched in Margate in February 2010. It received recgonition from all the major food guides and received Margate's first ever Michelin recommendation in 2010.
The Margate restaurant is nestled in the heart of the quirky old town surrounded by cafes and retro antique shops. It boost sea views over Margate sands and is located opposite the famous Turner Art Gallery.
Our head chef and founder, Dev Biswal, has used his artistic, open-minded approach to cooking to create a fresh, unique menu that is sure to delight. Book a table with us today to experience our food for yourself.
As a result of Dev’s innovation and creativity, our Indian-inspired menu includes influences from other global cuisines, such as French and South East Asian. Despite this range of international flavours, many of our ingredients are local to Margate. We get ingredients such as foraged seaweed, local game, and traditional favourites like lamb and chicken from suppliers here in Kent, blending the best local produce with the finest global cuisine.
Our restaurant is located on Fort Hill on the sea front. We overlook Margate’s sandy beach and the famous Turner Contemporary gallery, so you don’t have to go out of your way to finish a beautiful day out in Margate at one of our tables. View on map.
